Doris Finch Watson "Dorrie" was a founding member of Friends of Miller House / Washington's Headquarters, Inc.
She was a tireless advocate for the restoration of Miller House / Washington's Headquarters to its former glory and rightful place in our nation's history. Dorrie was a pillar of the North Castle community and served as Town Historian, Trustee of The North Castle Historical Society, Chairman of the Elijah Miller House Committee for the Town of North Castle, Secretary-Treasurer of the Middle Patent Rural Cemetery Association, Inc., a Director of the Banksville Community House, and Honorary Member of the Banksville Independent Fire Department. She was a recipient of the Historic Preservation Medal from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution White Plains Chapter. Her determination never wavered to have Miller House / Washington's Headquarters restored. The Friends of Miller House / Washington's Headquarter, Inc. share her determination and work continuously to make Dorrie's dream for Miller House a reality.
